MPL PH Press Corps to stage inaugural awards night on March 8


The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Press Corps is set to make history as it stages the inaugural Press Corps Awards Night slated this March 8 at the Amelie Hotel in Manila.

The Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Match of the Year, and Play of the Year are some of the awards to be handed out by scribes regularly covering the league during Seasons 9 and 10 as well as international tournaments like MLBB: Southeast Asia Cup and the M4 World Championship.

The coveted Player of the Year plum will also be given to the best performing individual player throughout the year.

Evident, the league's marketing arm, will also be presenting the Executive of the Year award and the All-MPL PH Team which will be composed of players who excelled in their respective roles.

So far, the Press Corps has announced a number of awardees with M4 champion Echo taking home most of the honors.

Echo’s backdoor play against Bren Esports in Week 6 Day 1 in Season 10 will be awarded with the Play of the Year while the Match of the Year was won by the showdown between the M2 and M3 World Champions Blacklist International and Bren Esports in the upper bracket finals of the MPL PH Season 10 playoffs.

Echo team manager Mitch Liwanag will also be handed the Executive of the Year award while John Paul “H2wo” Salonga of RSG Philippines will receive the Razer Gold Sportsmanship Award.

Echo's young exp laner Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya will receive the Breakout Player of the Year while veteran decorated ML:BB personality Johnmar "OhMyV33Nus" Villaluna will be cited as the Comeback Player of the Year.
