Chess brings three more golds for Team Philippines in Para Games
The Philippines added four more gold medals on Sunday night in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia, three of which came from the chess team.
Darry Bernardo won a gold from the para chess men's rapid VI-B2/B3, while he, along with Menandro Redor and Israel Peligro had one from the men’s team rapid VI-B2/B3 event. Cheyzer Mendoza also won a gold from the women's individual rapid chess PI.

Swimming had two gold medals from Ernie Gawilan and Gary Bejino, while power lifter Marydol Pamati-an and athletics' Cendy Asusano also claimed golds.
As of writing, the Philippines also has seven silver medals and eight bronze medals.
