Sibol MLBB team completes perfect run en route to ASEAN Para Games gold medal

The Philippines once again proved it was the king of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as the Sibol men's team captured the gold medal in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games on Monday in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The Filipinos swept Malaysia in the grand finals, 3-0, to complete a historic run in the biennial meet where they didn't drop a single match all the way to the title.

Sibol first went unscathed in the group stage, defeating Malaysia, Thailand, and host Cambodia for a flawless 3-0 win-loss card before pulling off a clean 2-0 win against the Thais in semifinals.

The win delivered a two-gold medal feat for the Philippines in the regional ML:BB tournament as Sibol men's team also reigned supreme in the 32nd SEA Games last month.

The team is composed of Marvin Ignacio, Ashly Paghubasan, Joshua Detera, Chester Gonzales, and Jasper Ambat with coaches Francis "Duckeyyy" Glindro at the helm.

Ambat (Diggie) showed the way in the opening game with a perfect KDA of 2/0/9 as they dispatched the Malaysians in just 11 minutes and 25 seconds with a dominant 13-3 kill spread.

Detera then unleashed six kills and seven assists in Game 2 with his masterful use of Yve to help send the Philippines to a commanding 2-0 lead. They never gave the opponents a chance to extend the game, finishing off Game 3 in 14 minutes.
