M5 World Championship Blacklist International

Blacklist International avoided elimination, completing its revenge against old tormentor Fire Flux Esports, 3-1, to keep its M5 World Championship dream alive on Monday at the EVM Convention Centre.

The Codebreakers, who were dropped to the lower bracket after losing a thriller best-of-five series to Onic Esports, will next face either AP Bren or Geek Fam in bid to keep their campaign going.

Roamer Renejay “Renejay” Barcase said they made sure to work out on their in-game discipline, which was a big factor in their group stage loss to the Turkish bets.

“Ni-review namin ‘yung mga mali namin against Fire Flux at sa Onic. Para sa amin, pinakamalaking mali namin doon ay ‘yung disiplina sa sarili,” Renejay said in the post-game interview.

“So mas pinriority namin ‘yung disiplina namin ngayon kaya mas maganda ‘yung napakita namin.”

[We reviewed our errors against Fire Flux and Onic. For us, our biggest mistake then was discipline. So we prioritized our discipline today and we had a better showing.]

The Filipinos will have a three-day break before plunging back to action which they will use as time to recuperate.

“Based sa mga na-experience namin sa international tournaments, maganda talaga na magkaroon ng break lalo na ‘yung iba na hindi pa fully recovered,” added assistant coach Dexter “Dex Star” Alaba.

[Based on our experience in international tournaments, it's good to have a break, especially if the others haven't full recovered yet.]
