Eduard Folayang looks forward to big things for Lions Nation MMA in 2024
Former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang is ecstatic about what is in store for Lions Nation MMA this year.
Folayang, together with former world champions Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario, and Joshua Pacio, were some of those who left Team Lakay last year to form a new team.
According to Folayang, the move is starting to pay off.
"The past is the past and we are looking forward to what we could get in 2024," Folayang quipped.
"We are excited and we believe many opportunities are going to open for us this year. One of the best things that happened is we have proven that we can stand on our own."
Fights are starting to pour in for Lions Nation MMA as world title challenger and ex-Team Lakay member Danny Kingad is slated to face Yuya Wakamatsu in a rematch at ONE 165 on January 28 in Tokyo, Japan.
Former ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacion, meanwhile, will run it back with Jarred Brooks for the gold-plated strap at ONE 166 on March 1 at Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar.
For Folayang, their core group of athletes is bonded better than ever.
"There is unity [in Lions Nation MMA] and we have strengthened our bond because we are guided by one vision," Folayang said.
