Lito Adiwang moves to Indonesia to continue MMA career

Filipino mixed martial arts fighter Lito Adiwang has moved to Bali, Indonesia to continue his MMA career.

A former member of Team Lakay, the hard-hitting strawweight was one of the fighters who deserted the stable in 2023. Now with the Soma Fight Club, Adiwang says the move was a sacrifice he had to make to reach his full potential.

"I need this so that I would not do anything but train, rest, and repeat," Adiwang told GMA Integrated News.

"Time flies and I am getting up in years so I will sacrifice the next five years to focus on achieving my dream. I want to give it my all to reach whatever I can in this sport so there would be no regrets."

Adiwang, 15-5 as a professional mixed martial artist, is coming off back-to-back wins over Jeremy Miado and Adrian Mattheis after he recovered from the knee injury he suffered in 2022.

Back in tip-top shape, Adiwang says he will leave no stone unturned to reach his goal of becoming a world champion someday.

"I look at the bright side. It is tough, but I am challenged by our training and the athletes I have trained with. I meddled with international coaches who helped me with strikes, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and really taught me new things," said Adiwang.

"I am giving my all in 2024. I do not promise anything but I expect that I will give my all every time inside the ring. I am not just chasing wins, I want to give an entertaining fight."
