EJ Obiena is shifting his 2024 Paris Olympics preparation into high gear as he opens his indoor season campaign starting next week.

The 28-year-old Filipino pole vaulter announced on his social media accounts that he will be participating in three major tournaments with the biggest one slated on March 3 for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

Before that, Obiena, who ranks no. 2 in the world, will first see action in the Memorial Josip Gasparac on February 20 in Croatia before testing his mettle at the ISTAF Indoor on February 23 in Berlin, Germany.

The three tournaments are part of Obiena's buildup for the Summer Games, which will kick off in late July.

These will be Obiena's first taste of action for the new year following a banner 2023, which saw him cop multiple medals including gold medals in the 19th Asian Games and the 32nd SEA Games while also joining the elite 6 meter-club in two competitions last year.
