Smart Omega Empress overcomes Malaysia foe, advances to MWI semis round

Smart Omega Empress hurdled a brave stand from Gaimin Gladiators x HomeGirls with a reverse 2-1 sweep in their best-of-three quarterfinals clash in the 2024 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational (MWI) on Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Philippine representatives shrugged off a Game 1 setback before dominating the next two games to punch their semifinals ticket against Victory Song Gamers of Russia later today.

Gold laner Sheen "SHINOA" Perez impressed with her masterful use of Ixia in Game 2, where she unloaded the tournament's first savage after single-handedly wiping out the five opponents in the seventh minute.

SHINOA took home the MVP plum in the series-tying win with her seven kills and 12 assists against three deaths.

Midlaner Rica Fatima "Amoree" Amores then finished the job in the do-or-die Game Three, unloading an unblemished 2/0/16 KDA to lift Smart Omega to the Final Four.

Smart Omega, who are looking to surpass their past two appearances in MWI, will take on the Victory Song Gamers later at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to the grand finals.
