Dlar, MP the King return to bolster new-look Blacklist International in MPL Philippines Season 14
Gerald "Dlar" Trinchera and Michael "MP the King" Endino have returned home to join a rejigged roster of Blacklist International ahead of MPL Philippine Season 14.
The Codebreakers announced the new-look lineup on Sunday with exp laner Dlar and jungler MP the King leading the squad after their overseas stints in Indonesia and Cambodia, respectively.
Salic "Hadji" Imam and Kiel "Oheb" Soriano have also been retained and will continue to be team squad's midlaner and gold laner while Jhon Marl “Lord JM” Sebastian, Jhonville “OUTPLAYED” Villar, Mark Venedict “Marktzy” Pagaduan, Dexter “Exort” Martinez, John “Perkz” Sumawan, and Kim “Kimpoy" Dela Cruz round out the 10-man roster.
Kristoffer "Bon Chan" Ricaplaza, who led Blacklist to three MPL titles and one M-Series world title in 2021, will call the shots.
This marks a new era in Blacklist International following the departure of key figures in multi-titled jungler Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario and veteran roamer Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna as well as Edward "Edward" Dapadap, all of whom have transferred to new MPL team Aurora Gaming.
"Wala naman talagang permanent sa esports, talagang nangyayari 'yan, even sa other sports kahit sa basketball," Bon Chan said during the media day last week.
"At some point, oo (may doubt regarding sa pagbuo ng bagong chemistry pero kasi itong mga 'to may kanya-kanyang hugot eh, may kanya-kanyang motivations and redemptions."
Hadji, who has been a key cog for Blacklist in the past years, shared he decided to stay with the team given the fact that his longtime mentor in Bon Chan is also staying put.
"Pinupusuan ko pa rin 'yung Blacklist at nandiyan naman si coach Bon. Nu'ng nalaman ko na natira si coach Bon, nag-stay talaga ako kasi may kasama naman ako," the 21-year-old Hadji said.
