Bianca Pagdanganan, Dottie Ardina look to give fitting end to Philippines' Paris Olympics campaign
Filipina golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina aim to give the Philippines a huge finishing kick when they see action in the fourth and final round of the women's individual stroke on Saturday at the Le Golf National.
Ardina will tee off first at 5:17 p.m. while Pagdanganan will follow suit at 5:44 p.m.
The 26-year-old Pagdanganan and 30-year-old Ardina are coming off contrasting results in the highly-pivotal Round 3 on Friday night, and the two Pinay bets are out to give it their best swing in bid to deliver a podium finish for the country.
Pagdanganan hit four bogeys yesterday as she finished over par for the first time in the Paris Olympics, slipping to joint 13th and out of the medal picture following two impressive outings in the first two rounds. She currently tallies 2-under 214.
In Round 1, the two-time Olympian carded a level-par 72 then followed it up with a 3-under par 69 in Round 2 highlighted by five birdies that allowed her to soar to joint sixth and well inside the medal contention.
But she struggled on the green in the penultimate round, dropping seven shots behind leader Morgane Metraux of Sweden and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Lydia Ko of New Zealand.
Ardina, meanwhile, displayed her best action yet after an impressive Round 3 showing, firing four birdies and an eagle at the par-5 hole 18th to cap off the day with a 3-under par 69 and a total of 1-over par 217 at solo 23rd place.
Ardina improved from back-to-back tough outings in Rounds 1 and 2, where she hit 4-over 76 and even-par 72, respectively.
