Curling Pilipinas falls to Japan in mixed doubles semis, relegated to bronze medal match

Curling Pilipinas duo Marc Pfister and Kathleen Dubberstein fell to Japan's Tori Koana and Go Aoki, 10-3, in the semifinals of the curling mixed doubles event in the 2025 Asian Winter Games on Friday.

The Philippine duo qualified for the semis after defeating Chinese Taipei, 7-2, in the semis qualifier held this morning.

With the loss, the Philippines is relegated to the bronze medal match as it awaits the losing opponent of the semis match between China and South Korea.

The Philippines finished second in Group B of the round robin with a 4-1 record behind China's perfect 5-0 run.

Dubberstein, meanwhile, will do flag bearer duties later, along with speed skater Peter Groseclose, in the opening ceremony of the Asian Winter Games.
