Filipina skier Laetaz Amihan Rabe finishes 6th in Asian Winter Games debut

Asian Winter Games: Laetaz Amihan Rabe of the Philippines

Laetaz Amihan Rabe finished last in the six-woman field of the women's freeski slopestyle to mark her debut at the 2025 Asian Winter Games on Tuesday in Yabuli, China.

The 15-year-old Rabe wound up fifth in the first run with 56.50 points but committed DNI (does not improve) in her second and third runs to ultimately bow out of contention.

Host China dominated the event with three Chinese participants sweeping the podium. Menting Liu bagged the gold medal with a 94.00 outing while Ruyi Yang took home the silver with 90.50 points.

Linshan Han captured the bronze with 87.00 points. Han also had a DNI finish in the second run but her clutch performance in the final run helped her reach the third place.

Despite the result, Rabe remained proud of what she was able to display in her first-ever Asian Winter Games stint.

“I’m still happy with my runs even though it ended at last [place] But I’ve done a lot of progressions and I did my best where I pushed myself which I have never done before,” Rabe, the 15-year-old daughter of Ric from Cotabato City and Aileen from Malolos, Bulacan, said.
