MPL PH Season 15 opens on February 28 with new and new-look teams

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines, the strongest region in the scene, is ready to usher in a new era as it opens on February 28 with new and new-look squads.

MPL Philippines Season 15 will see Twisted Minds and Team Falcons marking their debuts after buying the franchise slots of champion teams Blacklist International and RSG Philippines.

The two Saudi Arabia-based organizations will get to commence their respective campaigns strong right in the opening weekend with Twisted Minds going up against last season’s runner-up Aurora Gaming on February 28 at 5 p.m. and will be followed by ONIC Philippines' title defense opener against TNC Pro Team at 7:30 p.m. at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

Team Falcons, which acquired the whole roster of AP. Bren, will kick off its bid against Team Liquid Philippines on March 1 at 2:30 p.m. while new-look AP. Bren will take on TNC at 5 p.m.

ONIC and Aurora will then close out the Saturday showing with a finals rematch at 7:30 p.m.

Both ONIC and Aurora have retained their core rosters with minor changes as the former welcomed back Jaylord "Hate" Gonzales to the organization as its substitute player while Aurora tapped Justin "Calad" Limbo as its sixth man and analyst.

While the defending champions and the bridesmaid finishers are intact, several teams have upgraded their lineups while the others have different rosters altogether.

Team Liquid now has Kiel "Oheb" Soriano as its gold laner as the squad parted ways with longtime gold laner Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales while Twisted Minds will be bannered mostly by the core of Blacklist International led by midlaner Salic "Hadji" Imam and head coach Kristoffer "Bon Chan" Ricaplaza.

TNC has also undergone a facelift with Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera now leading the charge while Smart Omega will continue leaning on veteran roamer Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog.

With AP. Bren's previous roster now with Team Falcons, the former then acquired amateur club Lazy Esports as it opens a new chapter in the MPL Philippines.
