Alex Eala falls to Hungarian foe in Portugal tilt

World no. 72 Alex Eala fell to Hungary’s Panna Udvardy, 7-6(4), 6-4 on Thursday in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Oeiras Ladies Open in Portugal.

Udvardy is at no. 137 in the WTA rankings.

The loss came after Eala’s Round of 32 win against Anouk Koevermans of The Netherlands.

Eala and doubles partner Katie Volynets, who she defeated in the Miami Open, also lost in the Round of 16 doubles on Wednesday against Americans Christina Rosca and Carmen Corley.
