EJ Obiena rules PATAFA Philippine Pole Vault Challenge

Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena topped PATAFA's first Philippine Pole Vault Challenge held on a rainy Tuesday night at Vermosa, Cavite.

Obiena registered a season best 5.80 meters to rule the event, followed by Chinese Taipei's Yan-Han Wu who posted 5.15 meters. Filipino pole vaulter and Southeast Asian Games silver medalist Hokett Delos Santos finished third after clearing 5.15 meters as well.

"Happy to jump a new SB at my home track," Obiena said in his social media post as the event was held in the facility where he trains while in the country.

Obiena recently missed the podium in the Xiamen and Shanghai legs of the Diamond League.
