Alex Eala beats Romanian foe, advances to Nottingham Open main draw

Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala defeated Romania's Anca Todoni, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3, on Sunday in the qualifying draw of Nottingham Open in England to advance to the tournament's main draw.

Eala, ranked 77th in the world, won against world no. 87 Todoni in the second round of the qualifiers in a match which lasted for 2 hours and 19 minutes.

The win came after Eala's first round victory against Varvara Gracheva on Saturday.

The order of play and the schedule for the main draw is yet to be released.
