Onic Philippines outlasts Onic Indonesia to clinch MSC bronze
Onic Philippines dug deep in a battle of sister squads, fending off a gritty Onic Indonesia, 3-2, in a grueling battle for third place at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup 2025 on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Filipino bets, who previously bowed to defending champion SRG in a five-game semifinals thriller on Friday, clawed back from a 1-2 series deficit to seize the bronze medal.
On the brink of defeat, Onic Philippines, the reigning world champion, relied on clutch plays from gold laner Duane "Kelra" Pillas (Granger) in Game 4, shutting down his fellow Filipino in jungler Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol before picking off Lutpiii (Baxia) and Kiboy (Chou) at the 21st minute for a triple kill.
Onic PH cleared the minion waves before taking advantage of an undermanned Onic Indonesia as Kelra took down SANZ (Kadita) as well to drag the game into a deciding Game 5.
Onic Indonesia raced to a 7-2 kill advantage in Game 5, but Onic PH took it slowly but surely with jungler Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez securing a contested lord before the 13th minute mark.
Kelra once again delivered in the clutch, spearheading a tower lock amid a chaotic team fight and zeroing in on the base to seal the win.
The longtime gold laner posted a modest stat line of one kill, two assists, and one death, but it was his late-game heroics that powered Onic PH to the podium.
