The Philippines bagged its second medal in the 2025 World Games as Carlos Baylon, Jr. defeated Islam Karimov of Kazakhstan for the bronze of the men’s wushu sanda 56kg event on Tuesday in Chengdu, China.

Baylon lifted Karimov out of the mat twice in the second round to claim the victory.

This is the Philippines' second medal in the World Games following Kaila Napolis' silver in jiujitsu last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Olympic boxer Hergie Bacyadan advanced to the semifinals of the women’s kickboxing K1-70kg. Chezka Centeno, on the other hand, will face three-time world nine-ball champion Shasha Liu of China in the semifinals. Both matches will be played on Wednesday.
