Alex Eala bowed out of the 2025 US Open after falling to Spain’s Cristina Bucsa in the second round, 6-4, 6-3, early Thursday (Philippine time).

Despite the early exit, Eala made history by defeating Denmark’s Clara Tauson in the opening round, 6-3, 2-6, 7(13)-6(11), marking a significant milestone in her Grand Slam journey.

Beyond the experience she gained, Eala is also set to receive both a cash prize and ranking points from the tournament.
