Rocco Nacino set to make pro wrestling debut

Actor Rocco Nacino is set for his professional wrestling debut this September.

The social media account of Filipino Pro Wrestling said Nacino will go against Thiago “The Gym Bro” Santiago for his debut on September 14.

“Rocco’s done with the pranks and this time, he suits up for battle to take on his tormentor, the Gym Bro Thiago. Will Nacino Heat’s natural athleticism and experience be enough to be victorious or will Thiago prove that he is the ultimate wrestler to watch out for?” the promotion said in its post.

What is professional wresting?

According to Topend Sports, professional wrestling is a wrestling style and also a form of entertainment.

“It involves staged performances that blend elements of athletics, drama, and storytelling,” the website said.

?Think the likes of WWE and AEW. Usually, there is a storyline in the said wrestling shows and viewers are usually advised to not imitate what is happening on screen.

Is Rocco Nacino a professional wrestler?

Well, he is going to be one when he enters the ring this month.

In real life, however, Nacino dabbles in jiu jitsu, mixed martial arts, basketball, and boxing. ?

He also previously competed in a jiu jitsu event where he won gold and bronze medals.

Back in April, Nacino released in his YouTube channel his birthday prank where he joined an FPW match.

“Dream ko kahit saglit lang maranasan ‘yan, i-try natin,” he said in his vlog.

Nacino even trained with FPW for his prank.

“Akala n’yo madali lang ‘to ah? Mas magaling pa ata sila mag-act kesa sa akin,” he quipped.

Fast forward to the prank proper, he and another pro wrestler defeated Thiago in the said match.

From prank to pro

The Thiago-Nacino storyline then continued in social media.

In June, a playful exchange between Nacino and Thiago was seen on social media.

Thiago recalled the Nacino encounter and then asked for a competitor as he promised to bounce back. Nacino and Thiago then challenged each other to a face off.

In July, Thiago almost had a title but lost it after a video showing Nacino making fun of Thiago through a shoutout.

Now, the battle will be seen on the ring at the FPW Unfinished Business.
