Team Liquid survives huge scare from Team Falcons in MPL PH Season 16

Team Liquid turned things around late in Game 3 to complete a 2-1 escape against the hungry Team Falcons in the MPL Philippines Season 16 on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel. 

The win allowed the Cavalry to improve to 4-2 while Team Falcons continued its slump after falling to its sixth straight loss for a 1-6 card. 

Team Falcons made a huge rally in Game 2 with gold laner Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano unleashing a triple kill at the 17th minute on his Claude, picking off the troika of Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya (Esmeralda), Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno (Yi Sun-Shin), and Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz (Baxia).

That play paved the way for Team Falcons' tower lock as they tied the series to one game apiece. Super Marco finished with six kills and six assists against just one death. 

Team Falcons built on that momentum in the deciding Game 3 and had the lead for the first 12 minutes. But KarlTzy, still using his signature Yi Sun-Shin pick, made a crucial triple kill during a midlane skirmish at the 13th minute. 

Kiel "Oheb" Soriano (Natan) secured the lord objective, but Team Falcons was able to defend the base and prolong the game for a few more minutes. 

Oheb then once again slayed the lord at the 16:44 mark before his pivotal double kill capped off the five-man wipeout and sealed the victory. 

In the first two games, the streaking Aurora Gaming and TNC pulled off identical 2-1 wins against Smart Omega and Twisted Minds. 

Aurora Gaming cruised to its sixth win in a row for a 6-1 card while TNC improved to an even 3-3 slate.
