Alex Eala proudly shares Guadalajara 125 trophy ahead of Asian tournaments

Weeks after her title run at the Guadalajara 125 Open, Alex Eala took to social media to share a glimpse of her first WTA 125 trophy.

On Friday, Eala posted photos from her historic win, including snaps of the coveted trophy.

“Trophy appreciation post before I start the Asian swing,” Eala wrote in the caption of her post.

Eala is set to head to China for the first leg of her Asian swing, where she will compete in the Jingshan Tennis Open from September 22 to 28, followed by the Suzhou WTA 125 from September 29 to October 5.

The Filipina tennis ace has been on a roll this year, reaching the semifinals of the Miami Open in March and making her first WTA Tour final appearance in Eastbourne last June. She also made her main-draw debuts at two Grand Slam tournaments: the French Open and the US Open.

Now ranked No. 57 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), Eala achieved a career-high ranking of No. 56 in June.
