Alex Eala escapes Greet Minnen, advances to Suzhou WTA 125 quarters

Alexandra "Alex" Eala kissed Greet Minnen goodbye with a hard-fought 7–6(5), 6(3)–7, 7–5 victory in the Suzhou Open WTA 125 Round of 16 on Wednesday in China.

With the win, Eala advances to the quarterfinals, where she will face Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland.

This marks Eala’s fourth consecutive quarterfinal appearance in a WTA 125 event, following runs in Guadalajara, the SP Open, and the Jingshan Tennis Open. Overall, it will be her sixth quarterfinal this year, including appearances at the Miami Open and the Eastbourne Open.
