PH curling team books slot in Olympic qualifiers

The Philippine men’s curling team moved closer to its 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic dreams after securing a spot in the Olympic qualifiers.

Curling Pilipinas went unbeaten in the pre-Olympic qualifiers held in Scotland over the weekend, earning a place in the main qualifiers set to take place in Canada this December.

The team is composed of Marc Pfister, Christian Haller, Enrico Pfister, Brayden Carpenter, and Alan Frei.

Pfister and company delivered a flawless run, defeating Denmark (7–4), Chinese Taipei (10–0), New Zealand (6–5), Australia (9–4), and Poland (7–2).

“They performed really well in Scotland and we are proud of them. We expect them to advance, and we are calling on the entire nation for support and prayers,” said Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.

Earlier this year, the Philippine curling team also made history by winning the country’s first Asian Winter Games gold medal in Harbin, China.
