Alexandra "Alex" Eala is making her return to doubles competition as she teams up with Nadiia Kichenok of Ukraine at the Guangzhou Open in China this week.

Eala and Kichenok will open their doubles campaign on Tuesday morning.

This comes alongside her singles campaign in the same tournament, which is set to begin soon.

Kichenok, a 33-year-old player currently ranked No. 62 in doubles, owns two WTA doubles titles.

In the first round, they will face the duo of Emily Appleton of Great Britain and Qianhui Tang of China.

Eala, currently ranked No. 204 in doubles, last played doubles at Wimbledon on July 3, where she and Eva Lys exited in the first round against Ingrid Martins and Quinn Gleason.

In singles, world No. 54 Eala most recently competed at the Japan Women's Open, where she fell to Tereza Valentova in the Round of 32.
