Carlos Yulo may be sitting out the 2025 SEA Games in December, but the decorated gymnast isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

The Filipino gymnast qualified for the floor exercise and vault finals at the 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at the Indonesia Arena Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Jakarta.

The 25-year-old Yulo, who captured two gold medals from the same events at the 2024 Paris Olympics, scored 14.566 in his pet floor event with 8.666 points for execution and 5.900 for difficulty to earn the second-highest mark in the qualification round.

Filipino-British Jake Jarman of Great Britain, who copped the floor bronze in the Paris Games, topped the floor qualifiers with a total of 14.700 points while Kameron Nelson finished third with a 14.300 mark.

In the vault, Yulo emerged as the best performer by collecting 14.750 points after from 14.900 on his first vault and 14.600 on the second jump.

Only the top eight athletes per apparatus will advance to the finals set on Friday for the floor and on Saturday for vault.
