Alex Eala’s Guangzhou Open doubles partner: Who Is Ukraine’s Nadiia Kichenok?

Alexandra “Alex” Eala teamed up with Ukraine’s Nadiia Kichenok in the doubles tournament of the Guangzhou Open in China.

Eala and Kichenok advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles event on Friday afternoon after defeating the pair of Qianhui Tang of China and Emily Appleton of Great Britain, 6-4, 6-2.

Who is Kichenok?

Kichenok, 33, is currently ranked world No. 58 in doubles and has captured two WTA doubles titles this year — at the Prague Open and the Hamburg Ladies Open, both held in July — partnering with Japan’s Makoto Ninomiya in both tournaments.

In doubles, she reached a career-high ranking of No. 29 in 2022 and has collected 11 titles overall.

As a singles player, Kichenok achieved a career-high ranking of No. 100 in 2014.

Eala, meanwhile, currently holds a career-high ranking of No. 53 in singles and is at No. 207 in doubles. Her best doubles ranking is No. 155.
