Alex Eala breaks into WTA Top 50 with new career-high ranking
Alexandra "Alex" Eala continues to make history for Philippine tennis after cracking the WTA Top 50 for the first time in her career.
The 20-year-old Filipina tennis sensation is now ranked No. 50 in the latest WTA rankings, making the leap just days after wrapping up her busy yet fruitful season in the international scene.

Eala is coming off her last WTA competition at the Hong Kong Open, where she fell to Canadian star Victoria Mboko in the Round of 16. She also revealed that the 2025 SEA Games is in her plans.

The young tennis ace sparked her successful season with a historic run at the Miami Open, where she defeated a number of higher-ranked opponents on the way to reaching the semifinals.
Eala also made her Grand Slam main draw debut in Wimbledon, but secured her first-ever main draw victory at the US Open. She then seized her maiden WTA 125 title after reigning supreme at the Guadalajara Open.
