Noah Cabreros falls via late TKO in ONE Championship debut
Filipino mixed martial artist Noah Cabreros came up short in his ONE Championship debut, absorbing a technical knockout loss to Australian Rory Turner at ONE Friday Fights 134 on November 21 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Turner secured a full mount in the final seconds of the third and final round, allowing him to rain down ground-and-pound strikes on the defenseless Filipino fighter. After several unanswered shots, the referee finally stepped in at the 4:52-mark.
The Australian asserted his wrestling edge right away, taking the Filipino down at will in the opening round. Cabreros, however, stayed active off his back and found moments of success with sharp up-kicks.
The momentum stayed with the Aussie in the second round as he secured side control and methodically unloaded punches and elbows on Cabreros. The Sprawl MMA Fitness prospect managed to scramble back to his feet several times, only for Turner to drag him down again.
By the third and final round, Turner was firmly in command while Cabreros showed clear signs of fatigue. Another takedown at the 4:30 mark allowed the 22-year-old to ride out the remainder of the fight from top position before sealing the victory.
