SEA Games: Philippines dominates Vietnam, 20-1, for 4-0 start in men's baseball

2025 SEA Games men's baseball: Philippines vs Malaysia

The Philippine men's baseball team continued on its still-perfect run in the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games after pulling off a dominant 20-1 win against Vietnam on Tuesday in Thailand.

The Filipinos needed just seven innings to stun the Vietnamese squad and improve to 4-0 in the team standings.

It has been a stellar run so far for the Philippines after opening its campaign with a 14-0 shutdown against Indonesia last Saturday before cruising to 17-3 and 21-0 victories against Singapore and Malaysia, respectively.

The win put the Filipinos in the good position to continue their dominance in the SEA Games baseball tournament, where the country is the reigning two-time gold medalist. Baseball had been absent from the biennial event for the past two editions and is now making its long-awaited comeback.

The Philippines is also gunning for its fourth overall gold medal in men's baseball.

The Filipinos will look to preserve their immaculate run on Wednesday when they takes on host Thailand at 2 p.m.

The top two teams after the preliminary rounds advance to the gold medal match.
