Stephen Loman’s BRAVE CF comeback draws callout from ex-champ
It has been less than a month since Stephen Loman signed his contract to return to BRAVE Combat Federation, but he’s already drawn the attention of a potential rival.
Former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion Nicholas Hwende has stepped forward, openly challenging Loman, who recently secured a multi-fight deal with the Bahrain-based promotion.
“He’s a veteran in the business, and I would love to welcome him with open arms and share the cage with him one day,” Hwende said.
Loman has made it clear that his goal is to reclaim the bantamweight title he once held.
With his comeback fight expected in 2026, a victory over a contender like Hwende could fast-track him to a title shot against reigning champion Borislav Nikolic.
For Hwende, defeating a decorated figure like Loman could be the boost he needs to strengthen his own championship aspirations.
“To fight someone like him will raise my status. So yeah, I want to be the one to welcome him.”
Welcoming the 30-year-old Ifugao native, however, is no easy task—but Hwende insists he’s unfazed.
“With me, he’s just another boy I need to beat up. I don’t see him as anything different. There’s nothing big about it. He’s just another guy,” the No. 1-ranked contender boldly claimed.
Loman, who represents Lions Nation MMA, parted ways with ONE Championship earlier this month after a four-year tenure. Despite competing in numerous high-profile bouts, “The Sniper” had been sidelined for over two years following his battle with John Lineker in September 2023.
