Aleah Finnegan wins SEA Games gold in vault finals
Gymnast Aleah Finnegan ruled the women’s vault finals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games on Thursday in Thailand.
Vietnam’s Nguyen Thiquynh Nhu claimed the silver, while Malaysia’s Yeap Kang Xian finished third.
The journey to the gold, however, was not that smooth for Finnegan.
According to the Philippine Olympic Committee, Finnegan's performance underwent review and re-computation demanded by POC president Abraham Tolentino himself.
After the review, it was confirmed that Finnegan won the gold medal.
This is the Philippines’ third official medal of the day, following gold-medal victories by jiujitsu athletes Kimberly Custodio and Dean Roxas.
Earlier, gymnast Justin Ace de Leon also copped bronze in the men's floor exercise finals.
