Kayla Sanchez bags third swimming gold in 2025 SEA Games

Olympian swimmer Kayla Sanchez added another gold medal to her haul after ruling the women’s 100m backstroke on Saturday at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.

Sanchez clocked 1:02.35 to win the gold, while Thailand’s Mia Millar (1:02.52) and Indonesia’s Flairene Candrea (1:02.60) settled for silver and bronze, respectively.

This marked Sanchez’s third gold medal, following her victories with the Philippine team in the 4x100m freestyle relay and the 100m freestyle.
