Agatha Wong continues reign in SEA Games wushu

Agatha Wong continued her Southeast Asian Games dominance by winning her sixth gold medal at the 2025 edition of the biennial meet on Sunday in Thailand.

Wong ruled the taijiquan–taijijian event, adding another gold to her collection after previous victories in 2017 (taijiquan), 2019 (taijijian and taijiquan), 2021 (taijijian), and 2023 (taijijian–taijiquan). She also owns silver medals from taijijian in 2017 and taijiquan in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Philippine judo team capped its campaign with another gold following Chino Sy-Tancotian’s medal on Saturday, as the Mixed Team clinched the top podium finish in its event. The judo squad ended the tournament with a total of two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.

Earlier, Gilas Pilipinas opened its campaign with an 83–58 win over Malaysia, while its women’s counterpart barged into the semifinals with a 92–59 victory against Singapore.

Meanwhile, Hidilyn Diaz missed out on a podium finish in her return to the SEA Games stage, placing fourth in the women’s 58-kilogram division.
