SEA Games: Sibol Women fall to Malaysia to settle for MLBB silver medal anew

2025 SEA Games: Sibol Women MLBB

Sibol Women failed to exorcise the ghosts of the past as they fell to Malaysia, 4-3, in the 2025 SEA Games women's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang finals on Wednesday in Thailand.

The Filipinas settled for silver for the second straight SEA Games following their finals run in the previous edition in Cambodia, where they fell to Indonesia in a similar thriller.

With the teams tied at two games apiece, the Philippines aimed to take control early in Game 5, launching a base siege in the 11th minute. However, they pulled back when only gold laner Clarisse Cordova (Kimmy) was left to push alone.

Philippines and Malaysia traded the next two Lords, before Filipina jungler Kaye Alpuerto (Nolan) secured the fourth Lord without any resistance from the other camp, swinging the momentum firmly in Sibol’s favor.

Midlaner Rica Fatima Amores (Selena) then landed a perfectly timed Abyssal Arrow on Queenie (Claude), completing a three-man wipe in the final clash and securing Sibol’s match point at 3-2.

But the Malaysians lived to fight another day with exp laner Farisha (Arlott) shining with six kills and 13 assists that allowed her side to drag the Filipinas to a Game 7.

Malaysia then finished the business with midlaner Hanis (Kimmy) slaying the final Lord Farisha, still on her Arlott, unloaded a double kill that led to a four-man wipeout against Sibol en route to the comeback victory.
