ONE Fight Night 40: Jackie Buntan set to defend title in rematch vs. Stella Hemetsberger

ONE Fight Night 40: Jackie Buntan set to defend title in rematch vs. Stella Hemetsberger

Jackie Buntan will have a date with destiny on Valentine’s Day 2026.

The Filipino-American striker will put her ONE Women’s Kickboxing Strawweight World Title on the line in the main event of ONE Fight Night 40 at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on February 14. Standing across from her will be reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Stella Hemetsberger in a high-stakes champion-versus-champion rematch.

The pair first met at ONE Fight Night 35 last September, competing for the vacant ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title. On that night, Hemetsberger handed Buntan a unanimous decision loss to claim the crown.

“I feel extremely hungry to get back in the ring,” Buntan told GMA News Online. “I didn’t feel like my usual self in that last fight so I’m happy I’m able to run it back so soon from my last fight.”

The roles are reversed for the sequel, with the 26-year-old Austrian chasing double-champion status, while Buntan focuses on her first successful title defense.

If Hemetsberger defeats Buntan once again, she would improve her near-flawless professional record to 10-1 and become just the third woman to hold world titles in two different disciplines under the ONE banner.

For Buntan, it is a chance to even the score and solidify her reign at the top of the women’s kickboxing strawweight division.
