RECAP: Team Philippines at the 2025 SEA Games

The 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand concluded on Saturday, with the Philippines finishing with 50 gold medals, 73 silver medals, and 154 bronze medals.

For the country’s sports officials, the Philippine campaign in the biennial meet was considered a success, despite the challenges faced by the athletes.

Here is the final medal tally at the end of the SEA Games.

Notable gold medalists

Among the country’s 50 gold medals, several athletes and teams delivered notable performances in their respective campaigns.

Poomsae’s Justin Kobe Macario started the Philippines’ gold medal run, which was capped by Gilas Pilipinas Men’s and Women’s victories in basketball.

Kayla Sanchez was among the most bemedalled Filipino athletes at the SEA Games, winning eight medals (three golds and five silvers), while wushu's Agatha Wong captured her sixth SEA Games gold medal.

Eumir Marcial was the lone gold medalist in boxing, securing his fifth SEA Games gold, while pole vaulter EJ Obiena claimed his fourth consecutive SEA Games title.

The Philippine Women’s National Football Team, the Filipinas, won the country’s first-ever gold medal in women’s football, while Alas Pilipinas beach volleyball stunned Thailand to claim the Philippines’ first gold in the sport.

Alex Eala, meanwhile, won her first SEA Games gold medal in women’s tennis, while 11-year-old skateboarder Mazel Paris Alegado became the youngest SEA Games gold medalist.

The RP Blu Boys and RP Blu Girls continued to assert their dominance in softball, while the Philippine Baseball Team won its fourth gold medal in the sport out of the five editions in which it has been contested. Sibol Esports also notched its fourth straight gold medal in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Overall, the Philippines finished sixth in the medal standings, behind Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore.
