Alex Eala, Jerry Shang fall to Wu, Fokina in Macau Tennis Masters mixed doubles

The pair of Alexandra “Alex” Eala of the Philippines and Jerry Shang of China fell short against Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and China’s Yibing Wu, 7–5 7(7)–6(1), on Saturday at the MGM Macau Tennis Masters mixed doubles event.

Eala and Shang were originally slated to face Wu and Mira Andreeva, but Andreeva was reportedly sick, prompting a change in the lineup.

Eala is scheduled to face Andreeva in the women's singles tournament on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Fokina also defeated Shang in the men’s singles event, 7–6, 7–5.

The MGM Macau Tennis Masters is an exhibition event and is not part of the WTA calendar.
