MLBB: Edward, Oheb out to exorcise the ghosts of Indonesia in M7

MLBB: Edward, Oheb out to exorcise the ghosts of Indonesia in M7

JAKARTA—The Tennis Indoor Senayan, host of the M7 World Championship knockouts, feels all too familiar for Kiel “Oheb” Soriano and Edward “Edward” Dapadap.

But the memories it brings back aren’t ones they’d like to relive.

Three years ago, the same venue staged the M4 World Championship, where Oheb and Edward, then with Blacklist International, came close to securing back-to-back world titles. The Codebreakers reached the grand finals once again, only to fall to an uncharacteristic 0-4 loss against Echo (now Team Liquid).

Now, the stage is the same, but the players and teams have changed. Both Oheb and Edward are determined to rewrite history and finish what was left unfinished.

“Yes, actually kada daan ko sa hallway na ‘to sobrang naalala ko lahat ng nangyari and dito talaga kami dinurog ng Echo,” Oheb told GMA News Online.

“So gusto ko talagang ipanalo ‘tong M7 para magkaro’n ako ng sense of fulfillment at makabawi ako after ng M4.”

Oheb is now part of Team Liquid, playing a crucial role in the squad’s pursuit of the unprecedented “Golden Road”—winning all four major Mobile Legends titles in a single calendar year.

Meanwhile, Edward is leading Aurora Gaming, aiming to clinch his second world title since Blacklist’s M3 triumph in 2021. The veteran exp laner said he has moved on from M4, focusing on giving Aurora its first-ever crown.

“Wala, move on, move on na lang kasi nga ibang team na rin naman kasama ko at mga kakampi ko,” Edward said.

“Pero hindi lang ‘yung bawi sa sarili ko, pati na rin ‘yung Aurora kasi gustong-gusto ko silang bigyan ng championship.”
