M8 World Championship to be hosted by Turkey as MLBB unveils roadmap

JAKARTA—Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is strengthening its presence in Europe, with Türkiye set to host the M8 World Championship in January 2027.

Game developer Moonton announced the development on Sunday as the title’s flagship event goes outside Southeast Asia for the first time.

The first edition was hosted by Malaysia before Singapore served as the home for M2 and M3, where the Philippines ruled both editions courtesy of Bren and Blacklist International.

M4 then went to Indonesia while M5 and M6 were hosted by the Philippines and Malaysia, all of which were won by Filipino squads Echo, AP.Bren, and Onic.

The ongoing M7 edition is happening in Jakarta, Indonesia where Philippines’ Aurora Gaming and hometown bet Alter Ego are set to slug it out in the grand finals.

Aside from Türkiye, Thailand will also serve as host for M8 but only for the Wildcard stage.

Moonton also revealed its loaded calendar year, announcing its participation in the inaugural Esport Nations Cup (ENC), 20th Asian Games, and Esports World Cup (EWC).

The ENC will run from November 23 to 29 and will see 32 national teams compete. Sixteen teams will receive direct invitations while 14 natioanal teams will go through qualifiers. Two more teams will get wildcard slots.

The Asian Games will also feature Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as a medal event for the first time while the EWC will hold MLBB event for the third time.
