With M7 glory, Edward now joins elite club of two-time Mobile Legends world champions
JAKARTA — History remembers champions, but only a rare few earn it twice.
Edward “Edward” Dapadap is now one of them.
By claiming the crown, Edward, who won the M3 title with Blacklist International, joined an elite club of two-time world champions led by Team Liquid's jungler Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, who's tagged as the 'Greatest Of All Time' (GOAT) in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Angelo "Phewww" Arcangel and David "FlapTzy" Canon, who were teammates with KarlTzy during their M2 title run, are also in the club after repeating the feat with Team Falcons in M5.
"Sobrang saya kasi hindi ako makapaniwala na two-time world champion na ako," Edward told GMA News Online.
"Kasama na ako sa club nila Karl at ni Phewww tsaka ni Flap. Sobrang saya na napasama sa mga GOATs."
(I'm really happy because I can't believe I'm a two-time world champion already... I'm now part of the club with Karl and Phewww and with Flap. I'm so happy I'm in with the GOATs.)
The longtime exp laner helped steer Aurora Gaming to its first-ever major title by sweeping Alter Ego, 4-0, to reign supreme in the M7 World Championship on Sunday at the Tennis Indoor Senayan here.
But Edward still doesn't see himself as one of the GOATs, stressing Team Liquid's Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya remains the standard in the exp lane as the latter has already completed all major titles.
"Hindi. Wala e, andiyan pa si Sanford. Si Sanford pa rin."
(No. Sanford is still here, it's still Sanford.)
