How much prize money and ranking points did Alex Eala earn from Philippine Women’s Open stint?
Alexandra “Alex” Eala wrapped up her campaign in the Philippine Women’s Open following a 6-4, 6-4 quarterfinal loss to Camila Osorio on Thursday.
Beyond putting the spotlight on local tennis and competing in her first professional tournament on home soil, Eala also earned both ranking points and prize money from her run in the event.
By reaching the quarterfinals, Eala picked up 27 WTA ranking points, which count toward the world rankings.
She also earned $3,450 in prize money, while the eventual champion will take home $15,500, according to a document uploaded on the WTA website.
Despite her exit, Eala said it was an overall positive week as she won two matches and had the opportunity to compete in front of her family and supporters at home.
Eala will now head to the Middle East for the Abu Dhabi Open.
