Kelra leaves MPL PH to play for ONIC Indonesia
Highly-touted gold laner Duane “Kelra” Pillas is set to bring his talents abroad, signing up as an import in Indonesia.
Kelra formally left Onic Philippines on Friday and was later announced as the newest member of Onic Indonesia, one of the powerhouse clubs in MPL Indonesia and in the global scene.
“Kelra, people see the crazy mechanics and the Savages, but the real ones know it was the heart you put into every single game that mattered. You took all that pressure and just turned it into something special,” Onic PH said in a Facebook post.
“Wins and losses come and go, but the bond we have is real. To the Super Fam, you’ll always be more than just a teammate or a player—you’re our brother. Thanks for the hype, the grind, and for always giving us 100% no matter what.”
Kelra is one of the decorated gold laners in the Philippines. He helped steer Onic PH to its maiden title back in MPL Philippines Season 14, where they outlasted Aurora Gaming in the finals.
He then showed his caliber on the global stage, towing ONIC PH to the M6 World Championship throne by beating Team Liquid Indonesia.
That title run saw Kelra emerge as the Finals MVP.
He is now out to further prove that he is a world-class player with Onic Indonesia, where he is set to join forces with another Pinoy asset in jungler Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol.
Onic Indonesia is coming off a stint at he M7 World Championship, where they fell to the Philippines’ Team Liquid in the lower bracket to bow out.
