Blacklist International, BOOM Esports drop semis games to exit Honor of Kings Invitationals

JAKARTA—Filipino teams Blacklist International and BOOM Esports suffered the same fate in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 4 on Saturday at the GBK Basketball Hall.

Blacklist and BOOM both endured 1-4 losses with the former falling to reigning champion Nova Esports and the latter stumbling against Nongshim RedForce.

With the Philippine teams crashing out of contention, Nova and Nongshim arranged a finals rematch as the Malaysian squad looks to defend the crown.

Despite the losses, Blacklist International and BOOM Esports look to carry the lessons from this tournament moving forward.

Blacklist’s head coach Gerald “Tgee” Gelacio stressed his players gave their all, but pointed the aspects they need to improve on in bid to end the curse on the international stage.

“Binigay naman lahat ng best pero kumbaga nu’ng natalo kami ng Game 2, doon nawala ‘yung parang momentum namin,” Tgee said.

“Overall naman marami kaming natutunan sa tournament na ‘to. ‘Yung Nova sila naman talaga ‘yung malakas and sad lang talaga na natalo kami.”
