Maricar Camacho, Joel Orogan rule half marathon in Makati


Maricar Camacho and Joel Orogan emerged victorious in the 21-kilometer races of the ArmyNavy Run held last Sunday in Makati City.

Camacho ruled the women’s half marathon after clocking 1:32:37, besting Jennie Gutang (1:48:08) and Bernadette Sales (1:48:50), who finished second and third, respectively.

On the men’s side, Orogan dominated the field with a time of 1:23:15, followed by Mark Anthony Oximar (1:23:15) and Samuel Ranque (1:28:25).

In the 10K division, Blademore Macaraeg topped the men’s race with a time of 40:08, while Nelson Randique (41:54) and Nelson Reodique (42:41) rounded out the podium. Marikit Gomez led the women’s 10K field, finishing in 50:52, ahead of Pauline Abril-Tabirara (52:56) and Shayne Lugay (56:05).

The 5K men’s race saw Mitsuru Watanabe cross the finish line first in 17:28, followed by Rasmus Lanxe (18:45) and Rolando Cañete Jr. (21:22).

In the women’s 5K event, Eloisa Cusi claimed top honors with a time of 19:40, while Len Baguis (23:15) and Ana Adriano (23:38) completed the top three.

Around 10,000 runners participated in the event, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Ayala Foundation and Tuloy Foundation.
