Who is the Seahawks' Fil-American kicker and Super Bowl LX champ Jason Myers?
The Seattle Seahawks recently reached the summit of the National Football League, dominating the New England Patriots 29–13 in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium to claim the championship.
The night was historic in more ways than one for Seahawks kicker Jason Myers, who is of Filipino descent.
The 34-year-old ace etched his name into the record books by drilling five field goals — the most in a single Super Bowl, playing a crucial role in Seattle’s dominant victory.
Who is Jason Myers?
Born in California in 1991, Myers traces his Filipino roots to his great-grandfather, who emigrated from the Philippines. He has long taken pride in his Filipino heritage and has used his platform to speak out against anti-Asian hate in the United States.
We've seen an increase of violence & discrimination against the Asian American & Pacific Islander community. As a person of Filipino descent, I stand firm with my community and everyone who has been impacted and hurt. I see you & stand with you. #StopAsianHate @Seahawks ???????????????? pic.twitter.com/NNI4dUoUam

Myers attended college at Marist and graduated in 2013, but went undrafted in the NFL before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015. After three seasons with the Jaguars, Myers signed a deal to join Seattle in 2019.
By 2023, Myers became the second-highest paid kicker in the league behind Baltimore's Justin Tucker.
