2026 Winter Olympics: PH’s Francis Ceccarelli finishes 54th in men’s giant slalom

Filipino Olympian and alpine skier Francis Ceccarelli placed 54th overall in the men’s giant slalom at the 2026 Winter Olympics, held at the Stelvio Ski Centre.

Ceccarelli clocked 1:27.36 in the first run to rank 57th, then posted 1:20.87 (53rd) in the second run for a combined time of 2:48.23.

Brazil’s Lucas Pinheiro Braathen captured the gold medal with a total time of 2:25.00. Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt finished second in 2:25.88, while compatriot Loïc Meillard took bronze in 2:26.17.

Ceccarelli will next compete in the slalom event on Monday.

Tallulah Proulx, meanwhile, is set to see action in the women’s giant slalom on Sunday and the slalom on Wednesday.
