PVL: PLDT beats Akari to go 3-0 in All-Filipino Conference

PLDT defeated Akari, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, to secure its third straight win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.

Savi Davison paced the High Speed Hitters with 18 points built on 16 attacks, along with eight receptions.

Four other PLDT players also finished in double figures, while Kim Fajardo orchestrated the offense with 18 excellent sets out of the team’s 21 total.

Majoy Baron and Kim Kianna Dy contributed 14 points each, while Mika Reyes and Alleiah Malaluan chipped in 10 points apiece.

For the High Speed Hitters, however, defense was key as Kath Arado had 26 digs and 10 receptions.

“Alam naming hindi magiging madali lalo na’t defense-oriented din ang Akari. Lahat sila gumagalaw at lumalaban, kaya kailangan talagang tiyaga at mahabang pasensya," Arado said according to the league's update.

Meanwhile, Grethcel Soltones led the Chargers with 16 points, all coming from attacks, while Ivy Lacsina added 13 markers as Akari dropped to 0-3 in the conference.
