Alex Eala earns ranking points, cash prize at Dubai Tennis Championships

Alexandra “Alex” Eala ended her campaign at the Dubai Tennis Championships after falling to Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals, 6-0, 6-2, late Thursday.

With her quarterfinal finish in the WTA 1000 event, Eala earned 215 ranking points, boosting her current world ranking of No. 47 ahead of next week's official update.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings are based on a 52-week cumulative system, with results from a maximum of 18 tournaments counting toward a player’s total.

According to the WTA’s published prize money breakdown, Dubai quarterfinalists receive $98,500 in prize money.

The tournament champion, meanwhile, takes home $665,000.
