A familiar face is set to add firepower to AP.Bren in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 17, which fires off on March 20.

The Hive announced the homecoming of Kiel "Kielvj" Cruzem, who is returning to the country after competing for various overseas teams for years.

The veteran exp laner will join gold laner Jan Carl "Shizou" Valdez, roamer Denniel "Nova" Gomez, midlaner Arvie "Aqua" Antonio, and jungler James "Jamesnpagks" Mendoza as AP. Bren starts its redemption bid following a lackluster Season 16 run, where they finsihed with a 4-10 win-loss record.

All eyes will be on Kielvj. The seasoned MLBB star had been plying his trade abroad for almost three years before making a Philippine comeback, playing for Singaporean, Chinese, and Cambodian squads.

A two-time MPL Philippines champion and one-time MSC Cup titleholder, Kielvj previously reinforced Bleed Esports in MPL Singapore Season 6 in 2023 and was also part of Cambodia's BURN x Flash during its run at the Games of the Future 2024.

Kielvj also made history as the first Filipino player to play in China after signing with XYG for the China Pre-Season Invitational: Stage 1.
